yesterday i went too LFS to buy a cpl more corys , upon releasing them to tank ,carefully taking them out of the bag with net ..i noticed i had a fish in the bag , thinking it was a guppy jumping into net then and jumping out into bag , lol

but on inspection of the fish when i switched lights on later ..i noticed a weird looking fish i have never really seen so , seeking info i checked google images for fish speices i know , and low and behold it was a beta female ,

my tank is full of about 10 guppys 5platys ..8clown loaches .2 plecs sucking fish 3corys and 5 mollys ..7 neons ..

my question is , what do i do with this here female beta .. let her stay in the tank with the above or so i rehome her to her own tank ..being my quarintine one , i have never kept betas before , and i wouldnt never have even bought one . so i was quite surprised to find her in my tank ,

plz help with some advice

thanx in advance

edited to add ,,all shes doing atm is hiding

With the clown loaches and corys I hope that your not adding aquarium salts, if your not then the female betta will actually fit in well with the other fish. Female fighters can be kept in sorieties and I have always found them to be peaceful towards other fish.
The only other issue that you may have with the female fighter is if you have strong currents blasting all over the tank, females because they dont have the extra long fancy fins like the males can handle a bit of current but they still like a nice peaceful posy to relax and snooze. If you have some soft fake plants or even better real plants that reach the surface of the tank the female will probably use that sheltered place as her rest area.

so thanx Baccus , u have put my mind at rest a little :) xx

Yeah clown loaches can be devils when it comes to live plants.
Alot of people use silk plants for their fighters and one of my males has his own large artificial leaf that is hanging over the side of the tank, he loves getting in underneath it and when the water is the right height he also lays on the top part of the leaf that is submerged.
A plant that the clown loaches may find too bitter to destroy is java fern, it can be attached to timber or rocks, so no need to be planted and it can be positoned at almost any height in the tank depending on the branch/ timber used as its anchor. Another plant that has thick leaves and even my bristlenoses doent destroy is anubis its another plant that doesn't need planting but needs to be anchored to some structure in the tank.
I am guessing the red tailed shark is young, just keep an eye on it as it matures they can get territorial as they get bigger.
Oh and if at any later date don't add either gouramis or paradise fish to the tank with Misty. They are labyrinth breeders too and there is usually agression between the species.

and thanx for the tips on the plants i can buy i will look for some of them ..i believe the shark is young as its only little and scrawny atm lol , but i will keep a close eye on shark .!! hubby wanted him lol .. i will eventually be replacing this tank with a 6 foot one over the next comming year ,, not sure when probs after my holiday now for when we redo my flooring so it can all be done at same time , i only wanna move my fish once so thought it was best to wait untill im ready to lay new floor and then move them too the bigger tank all together ,

Moving tanks is a chore and stressful for both you and the fish. I would wait until it can all be done in one hit too.
