I have a second tank (30 gallon - 48x12x15) after moving all my fish into my bigger tank, this 30 gallon tank is now empty of fish.

I want to house 1 or a pair of big fish

which are possibilities please

could i house 1 oscar?
or
2 silver dollars?

30g is too small for even one oscar, you'd need a min of 55g although most people who keep them start at a min of 75g.

Never kept Silver Dollars so can't really give advise on them, but a quick search through the net looks like you may just be able to get away with 2 fish, however they are a schooling fish and should be kept in a min group 6.

Pretty sure there are a few people here who do keep them and should be able to give you better advise.

As for any other suggestions, I don't really know any large fish that you could keep in a 30g.

The footprint of your tank while being fairly long, is also narrow (12") so this cuts down on any 'big' fish. I would say the maximum size you would be looking at would be 8" at the very top.
Fish you could have a pair of could be:
Firemouth
Convicts
Salvini
Blue acara
Rainbow cichlids
