just to update:

Hells angel has gone back to this fish shop today and was replaced with 3 golden barbs who are beautifully shoaling with my phantom tetras

the cichilids - i spoke today to my LFS who are very good and confirmed that i should not buy fish from pets at home

so the cichilids are going on classified in a minute.

our local one is awful, it sold me 2 Chinese algae eaters and 2 shrimp a couple of years ago when i was very new to fish keeping, tthe algae eaters ate the shrimp..

oh just to add i was using a biorb and the substrate was these little weird rocks, so the CAE had no where to go

and now the whole cichlid situation

meaning our local one is baddddd

Agree regarding Pets At Home, the one near me is far from great for 2 reasons;

1) The majority of tanks contain either dead or diseased fish, it's like free parasites with every fish.

2) You practically have to fill out a questionnaire before you buy any fish & you can only buy 6 in one go.

Found a new LFS just round the corner from me that I didn't even know existed, absolutely fantastic place & ended up coming away with a new 20 gallon tank stocking etc.. in another thread soon.
