Hello all I am new here and just wanted to say hi. I have 2 tanks, a 2.5 gallon bow front with 4 goldfish named Aphrodite, Thundher, Dragon and Shea. I also have a 20 Gallon with 2 Tiger Oscars named Savannah Rose, and Goliath. 2 Albino Oscars named Phantom, and Smurfy. 2 Plecos named Country and Rabbit, 2 Angels named Diablo Rose, and Tego. and 3 corycats named Bandit, Little John and Friar Tuck. I they are all small and are doing very well in the tank. I know that the Oscars will soon outgrow it and I have a 55 gallon waiting to be set up for them

All I can is uh oh. You will soon know what I mean. Oh and introduce yourself to the newbie forum too. :D

it the 4 goldfish in the 2.5g that makes me feel ill.

and make that 4 oscar's and 2 pl*co's.

Goldfish need at least 10g EACH.
Oscars get to 11inch's EACH (I think)
Pl*co's get 12 inch's EACH if they are the common type.

your going to have some very very big probs in the future.

I would just like to add that the 4 goldfish I have in the 2.5 gallon tank are very happy and healthy. I have had no problems at all with the tank, and all the water levels are where they should be. I have had tanks in the past and unlike my Oscars which I know will out grow the tank they are in now my goldfish will not grow beyond the size they are now unless they were moved to a larger tank.

:hi: to the forums, SheaWhiteWolf.

I assure you that those goldfish are NOT happy. It is common for people to think that they are happy when in actuality they are not  . In this forum, there are many people with a lot more experience with fish, and you should take their advice instead of rejecting it. That is the entire point of this forum, to gain knowledge. It wouldn't work if you stuck to what you think and feel is true.

At the end of the day, we are only trying to give advice to help you and your fish, but it is still your choice whether or not to accept it.

P.T.

I'd nix the 55 or rehome most of your fish. 55 is minimum for 1 Oscar, they are territorial and extremely messy. Four oscars in a 55 will either kill each other or die from pollutents :/

If you can get a 125 instead that would be a good size for the oscars, but you may still have territory disputes.

The 20gal would be better for your goldies, but still not ideal. However they aren't compatible with the other fish that are in there.

I hope you don't feel like we're attacking you  As P.T. has said, we're only giving you advice that is best for the fish themselves (which is what we want right ;) ) and what will make the hobby the most enjoyable for you. Healthy fish make for happy fishkeepers
