Hi,

My name is James. I have just purchased a tank and put a few fish in there - Guppy, mollies (Orange fish with black thins) and algy eaters.

Last night I found 2 babies swimming in the tank. I didn't know that any of the fish were expecting as we'd just brought them.

Being new to this, I just left the babies where they were over night until this morning when I popped down to the shop to by a baby net for them

James-

Careful! Mollies don't generally eat their babies, but guppies do. So watch 'em!

And, much as I hate to break it to you, Mollies are NOT fish for beginners!!!!!! They like salt and a lot of it--but salt will kill your algae eaters so you'd need a separate tank for them. Mollies are very fussy fish. I have tried to keep them several times in the past, and the longest I've managed to keep them alive is a few weeks, maybe a month. So if they die on you (Heaven forbid!! ) well, you're not the only one they've died on. Guppies are hardy though, they should last you. Swordtails and platies are also good livebearers to consider should you ever have room for them. And congratulations on the fry!!! I hope they do well.

Oh, and :hi: !!! It's great to have you!!!!
