A little bit about my current experience: I've had tropical fish for around the past 5 years or so, however with much of this being in my early teens I've only really started getting into the hobby seriously. I currently have a 55L tank with Madagascar Rainbow Fish and a small group of Cardinal Tetras and some juvenile Pakistani Loaches. I also have a mystery fish which I think may be a Silver Flying Fox. I've also had a number of Platys and Mollies in the past, however I never replenished their numbers. I'm hoping to get started on a second tank soon and a third in the future.
