Hello recently purchased an Apple snail for a 5 gallon aquarium and today about a week later after I purchased the snail I found baby snails in the tank ? They baby snails look dark and black was wondering are they the same species of snail or a parasite?

the small snails are Lymnaea pond snails, squash them before they breed.

A pond snail. You likely have a mystery snail as Apple snails are illegal in many states.

Apple snails are much bigger? Like the size of a fist.

There several snails called apple snails. The most common species available are those called brigs even though we now know the ones sold in shops are usually P. diffusa. These grow up to 2.5 inches and don't usually eat live plants. The really big apple snails are called canas, P. canalicuata, which grow to 3 inches or more and will eat live plants. Both these species are called apple snails.

I don't know, I normally don't crush my emails at all, fed to fish or not.
