Hi All,

Just wanted to say a quick hello, I'm completely new to this and am looking at starting up my new fish tank shortly. I've spent several hours reading up on cycling etc so feel quite confident now but any additional advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Tom.
I have a link in my signature area to the thread we use for fishless cycling. Many people would benefit by reading and understanding what we present in that area before they start stocking their new tanks but I realize that is too much to ask for many folks. Perhaps you have the patience it takes to do things right though.

Thanks for all the info. I'd actually read that thread before I posted here. Have started the cycling process without fish and just got my tank to the right ammonia levels to get it all kicked off. Fingers crossed it goes ok.
