im new here so thought id pop here and say hello

been interested in fish for awhile now, reading up about it most days and takes me so long to decide stuff its been going on for months lol , and out of the blue i was given a juwel rio 180 set up, so here i am raring to go, already got some great info from Waterdrop on here
just waiting for some new lighting and filter media then i can get things moving and start the cycle

cant wait to get some pics up over the next few months

WD is a great person for helping out new fish keepers. He will keep you on the right course of action if you heed his advice. He and I trade information at times using PMs because it is less intrusive than posting messages to each other in threads like this one. There is no need to wait on lighting improvements for starting a fishless cycle. All you really need is a filter and some ammonia to start things going. In the first week, a simple test kit is also needed bit you can get things moving using a simple calculator to establish that first dose of ammonia and get the test kit some time before it is all used up. (That can take 2 weeks easily)
