Hi all...I am so glad I found this site
I bought my daughter 3 ballon belly mollies for her birthday..We started with marineland Explorer (2 gal) set the tank up...7 days later we added the 3 fish...we are so new to this hobby we are going on what the pet store told us..They never mentioned these fish being livebearer's and we were too dumb to ask...I have been doing some researh and have wised up a bit I'm sure this site will be a Great help!

The tank is really quite small tho, do u have any plants to get a larger one?

We are planning on a larger tank as soon as we can... I don't want to go too large at first just because we are so new to the world of fish..planning to put one of our male betta's in the 2 gallon once the new tank is bought, set up & cycled

hmm if that doesn't sound familiar......
i said the same thing when i started and went with a 20.....
didn't take too long for me to decide that was to small and got a 45......
didn't take too long for me to decide that was to small and got a 55......
didn't take too long for me to decide that still won't enough room with the 20, 45, 55, so now i constintly looking ways to fit small breeder tanks in my room with the others....

so if your gonna get a bigger tank, if you have the room and it's practical, whey not get a BIGGER tank. The bigger the tank the easier it is to keep. The water parameters, and temp. are more stable. Trust me when you start to get into it you'll be glad you went with a bigger tank and skipped the part of just one more tank just a little bigger. But keep in mind....these are just the opinions of a person suffering from M.T.S.

Hiya Mollymomma, like all these newbies, makes me feel old, even though I've only been with you a few days. Can everyone stop talking about getting bigger tanks, trying to stop my boyfriend getting a tank half the size of my flat, and it's not helping.
