Hello everyone,

Thought i'd sign up after stumbling across the site on Google.

I have a 30 litre tank that has been running for about 18 months.
It has a rena 25w glass heater and an EHEIM aquaball filter.

It is sand based (although i'm not sure what type).
I have 2x blue three spot Gourami's
2x yellow leopard delta guppy's
2x glow-light tetra's
1x corydoras catfish
1x common plecostomus

It's quite bare, i only have two rocks and a small plastic plant behind them.

I have a couple of questions as i'm still a novice!

Although the cory keeps the top of the sand clean, how would i clean the underneath of the sand (as its getting quite black) without harming the fish?

They all seem quite happy.

Pictures (Some are slightly blurred as im only using a digital camera that i have no idea how to use!);

I would love a bigger tank for my living room but never realised how expensive they are!

Regards,
Laura

use a gravel vaccum carefully or turn the sand over and over with your finger and then vaccum some of the rubbish thats on top.

1) you will need to get rid of that plec. they get to about 14 inches at least
2) the gourami's are too big for that tank really and need to go.

3) second hand tanks are perfect. Planrty of people on here sell equipment and tanks. (check the classifieds section)

4) WELCOME TO THE FORUM! :hyper: its a wealth of knowledge on here. :good:

Hi and welcome :)

I have to agree with Nick, the plec and gouramis need to be removed, your tank is too small for these,
Has mentioned, second hand tank are reasonably priced and you might get a bargain, although do check it has no leaks etc before buying.

Cories love to be in a group, they don't necessarily clean the sand, they just shift it around whilst rummaging

Good luck and let us know how you go :)
