Hello everyone,
I am new here too. I'm from East Sussex, United Kingdom and quite new to the tropical fish subject.
A year or so ago my husband bought a fishtank and two plateys. the fishtank was standing next to our bed. it is just so nice to wake up and see them first thing when you open your eyes
Anyway, one day I woke up and I saw two little fisheyes staring at me. It turned out we had a male and a female and they had gotten steamy!! How sweet!!!
To cut a long story short - now we have over 30 and they are all my sweet little babies. Problem is that the fishtank is getting very small, considering those fishies will grow up one day. Therefore I just got a 150 litre fishtank which is amazingly heavy and I am not sure if I should insure it. What if it breaks one day? What are the chances? It is not new but I tested it a night in the bathtub (filling it with water) and it seems save.
I am not sure how much of the old fishtank water to use and what to decorate it with, but I'll go to a specialist store tomorrow and see what they say.
Anyway, I am such a newbie and I didn't even knowthat those fish don't lay eggs but pop them out. How cute!!!
So, that's my story, I am really excited to be here and get a lot of information and read other people's stories and experiences.
keep up the great work!
