So the girlfriend said "lets get a fish"....... the man in the shop said "for £18 you can get a heater and make it tropical"

And now here I am, on tropical fish forums and totally enjoying a wonderful new hobby!!

Great to chat with you guys to find out all the things I have done wrong, far from worried enough as it is after reading about amonia level this, PH this, Nitrate this, don't do this, make sure you got this.. get live feed for this...OH MAN!!!!

don't worry about conflicting advice... as someone said on here... just because someone tells you something different, doesn't mean the original was wrong, theres just so many ways of doing things!!!!

All this may seem confusing and complicated now but in a very short time it will all be second nature to you. It is a great hobby and well worth the effort it takes to learn the basics.
