Hello, I'm Netti and I'm new here from PG County, MD.

About my tank:

It's a 16 gallon tank, no background, blue gravel, and plenty of decorations.

6 Platies - 4 female, 2 male

Red Wag (runt...has been 1 inch for almost 2 years), White Dalmation, Yellow Twinbar, Orange Mickey Mouse, Blue Mickey Mouse (more CLEAR though), and a Gold/Spotted/Mickey Mouse Platy (hybrid of former...now dead fish).

and a 5 inch Common Pleco (mistake purchase)

Soon, I'll be buying a 55gallon tank.

Also...my fish recently have developed ich (just noticed 15 minutes before I joined this site). I used someTankBuddies products (aquasafe, ph neutralizer, and ammonia rid)...and like the PH neutralizer said....changing PH and other water conditions can result in ich....and and sure enough it did. I'm going to the LFS tomorrow to buy treatment, and I've added salt to the water.

Welcome!

Be careful with the salt as plecos are highly intolerant to salt. The treatment you've bought should work but keep it up for 10-14 days, longer than some package inserts recommend.

I'd also strongly caution about using anything to affect pH other than things like bogwood, as pH fluctuations can kill fish faster than anything, and fish are generally far more tolerant of pH than people realise. Also, pH products are generally full of phosphates, which can cause terrible algae problems.
