Hello,

Been reading this forum for a while and like the friendliness and knowledge you all have.
I'm quite new to fishkeeping, learning all the time and hoping to gain lots of info so that my fish all enjoy a good life.

Cheers,
Bob.

Welcome to the forums Bob, If you have any questions fire away.

Thanks Techen,

Seeing as you asked, here is my first question. lol

I have cycled my Juwel rio 400 ltr tank and have put the fish from my smaller tank in it.
My question is what do you guys think of my choice of tank mates?
My tank is fully planted, with a sand on tetra complete base and is running on 2 Fluval 305's.

Present fish:

5 Harleqin Rasboras
4 male Guppies
3 dwarf Chain loaches
2 Bristlenose Plecos
2 Cobalt Blue Dwarf Gouramis
1 Red Dwarf Gourami

Fish on my shortlist:

4 Angel fish
3 Pearl Gouramis
6 Adofois Cory
3 Siamese Flying Fox

My aim is for peaceful tank so do not want any compatability issues.
Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Bob.

Well I don't know every fish and how it reacts to others. But looking at your list it looks fine.

Now adding corys sound fine, 6 is a good start.

I suggest against the 4 angels, If you want more than one angel you'll have to find a breeder with a breeding pair else they'll just kill each other.

I've heard a few thing about foxes but am not entirely sure about them.

But you must have sand to keep the corys happy :p

Thanks for the quick reply Techen,

I know that in a forum you will get other users personal experiences and this is what i would like. It all goes towards making an informed decision.
The most important thing for me is the health of my fish. Obviously, there are bound to be issues from time to time (same as humans), but a colourful peaceful tank is what I'm aiming for.
I have sand in my tank, so corys are a must for me. I am open-minded about Angels because I have read conflicting comments about their behaviour toward smaller fish, but I would like some "stand out" fish in there too.
The same can be said for Pearl Gouramis as I believe they can be aggressive also.
If anyone out there can suggest alternatives I will certainly consider them.

By the way, If this topic is in the wrong place please (mods) feel free to move it and I apologise in advance.

Cheers,
Bob.
