hiya everyone....i use to keep freshwater fish about 20 years ago..As im now semi-retired Ive decided to take the plunge and get back into this fastinating hobby.Ive purchased my tank and have been refreshing myself on all the basics of fishkeeping.Ive always thought it is a hobby that can be as simple or as complex and as you wish to make it.most people opting for the simple method in the 80s.when i was younger information was generally passed from mouth to mouth and a few half descent books...with the advent of the internet, it has made it much less daunting for ppl to try something a little more technical.Viewing some of the members tanks im totally amazed what can now be achieved.....Ive been viewing alot of fish forums lately but really like this one as it caters for beginners and experts alike.members take the time to answer ,even the most basic of, questions without being ridiculed or being told to "do your research"...On the other hand, you have the total experts, giving their opinions and advice(of course,none of them totally agree)....Basically..its a great site and im happy to join..cheers everyone...MORE DRINK!!

Absolutely agree - this forum's a fantastic resource with such helpful people! I'm in a very similar position to you, returning after 20+ years 'in the wilderness'! Hasn't a lot changed?!
