Hello from Rio Rancho NM. Just got back into indoor part of the hobby. I just received from a neighbor a 18-19" Pleco! I set up a small 55 gallon tank for it as a tempory tank till weather warms up for the out door 150 gallon cattle tank I have burried in the yard. I placed my 900 gph with built in uv light hooked to a tetra bio pond filter in addition to ug filter in the 55 gallon tank. well I went to a local pet store and found a lonely 16-18" pleco of same colors and markings so I purchased this one. May be hoping to get a pair of these extra large plecos. How do you tell differnce in males and females. Now the bad news 3 years ago I had a 150 gallon tank in the house, that had been going for 8 year's. and in the middle of the night a seam popped, sounded like a gun in the house, insurance coverd some of the damages to the house, but did not replace 150g tank. tank went to landfill. and lost most of the fish.
