Hello,
It has been a lot of years since I had a tropical aquarium. When I did have one it was completely old school, fake plants, no cycling I had a bubble bar under the gravel for filtering and I didn't do water changes, I took everything, fish included out of the tank and gave it a good scrub down about once a month. I had 55g long and a 35-40 can't remember what it was. 10g with guppies for food. I didn't have any fish deaths except one red tail shark that tangled with my placo and lost. It was overstocked I'm sure.
I am planning on taking everything out of my 12g eclipse reef tank and putting it in a 10g standard so I want to make the 12g into a tropical tank, but i want to learn how to do it the right way and have live plants in it.
I look forward to learning and meeting everyone here. I'm really excited to start but before I do I have to set up the 10g reef first so I will have plenty of time to read, read and read some more.
Have a great day!
J
