Hello:

I'm new here... I like the layout of this site - very nice! I'm from the we(s)t coast of Canada and I have currently a 10 gallon planted freshwater aquarium with a 5" pleco (in need of a newer and larger tank! :D )
2 clown loaches, and a pretty betta (I'm not sure of it's breed, in fact)

I recently moved into a larger apartment, so we do plan on getting the pleco a bit more space! I'm hoping to get as large an aquarium as I can for cheap for him... poor guy is so 'clumsy' in the 10 gallon ;)

Thanks! Hope to "yak" with some of you!

hi i will start the "yaking" as i am new today to

Wlecome aboard Blue! Hope ya like it :D B)

blue,

As far as the pleco goes....it really depends on the species of pleco you have!!

Not all plecos grow to a large size.....some on get to 3-4"!!

If you can snap a pic and post it we could prolly ID it for you.

Hi Tetraboy!

Hmm, it's hard to say what's popular here in Canada on the whole.
I guess it depends on the areas? Aquariums are very popular here in British Columbia where I live... and as far as freshwater fish go there are a lot of Koi ponds popping up everywhere :) For home aquariums, from my own observations I see a lot of tetras, mollies, platties, and even bettas being sold.

I guess it is all dependant on who likes what.

Am I correct in guessing you like/keep tetras? ;)

Have a good one!

Oups - forgot to log in before replying... :S

Instead of turning this into a "hot" topic, I am going to reply to everyone in this posting individually :D

Thank you all for such a big and cool welcome! I actually find you are an extremely friendly group as far as forums go! I think I'm going to feel at home here... especially after reading your postings!

LES: Hi! Thanks for the welcome... I like it here already.

CICHLIDMASTER: WOW! I'm a big RedGreen fan too! that's super! I just moved recently, and my digi cam was lost until last night. Now, I just have to wait until Wednesday to get out adsl line connected at the apartment. After that, I certainly plan on trying to snap a photo of him to show you... sad thing is that he's always glued to the backside of this rock we have hiding. He soooo cute though! I just love his little eyes :)
I'll try my best anyways...

PUFFERPACK: Take off ya hoser! ha ha, very good! Loved "Strange Brew" :D thanks for the tip on google finder... beyond our local Buy&Sell, I haven't got many other resources. How'd you enjoy the dump of snow, eh? :p

GRAEME: Hello to
