I am an old school hobbyist. It's been about 10-15 years since I did fish. Prety much the same, things are a little different now. I see MarineLand is now making there tanks with Black silicone sealant (I don't like it) I have always favored MarineLand in the past (No more tanks)... Boy the lighting has changed. I got a couple of Hygger Auto On/Off LED lights. I really like them BUT for the life of me can't figure out to set them up. I will be asking for help from someone that's been there done that. Thank you

Welcome.
I returned a couple of years back after 22yrs away. Maaaan it’s changed. They’re good on here. Friendliest fish forum on the internet imho. Very welcoming to returnees and newbies alike.

Not much undergravel filtering around now and water hardness is now considered by science to be as important as PH. Oh and Japonica shrimp are now Amano shrimp. Lightings complicated too as you say.
Best of luck.

Welcome! I'm from NC as well and have a hygger light. I can help you set it up if you want. Is it the sunrise/sumset one or does it just turn on and then turn off with no dimming

I noticed undergravel filters have gone away. I had undergravel on everything I ran salt and fresh!!! So far my return is OK (the internet helps a lot) Big problem I have rite now is setting up my Hygger lights.

Yes it is this one I am trying to adjust the preset. I want day to come on at 7am then transition into moonlight at 7pm then off at 11pm. The problem I can't figure out how to get a smooth transition from day to night.

Ah ok. This is the one I have. I had the hardest time figuring the thing out as well but once I learned the controls, it was super easy... I used to have the blue light on but soon learned that most freshwater fish dont like the blue light. So I just have the normal lights dimmed down to the lowest setting until it turns off. My light is set to turn off at around 5-5:30... I forget what exact time it turns off... I'm a bit busy rn but I will take a picture of the controls and then show you how to program it later on if you'd like...

So, imma walk you through with a small guide... Hopefully it helps

1) If you hold down this button you can change the local time when the clock starts flashing. Once you have the hour chosen, hit this button again and it will change to the minute section once you choose the minutes hit the button again and it will automatically return to the "home screen".

2 & 3) These are used to flip the times up and down and to dim the lights manually (very simple)

4) push this once to change the color of light and hold it down to turn it off.

1 & 4) If you hold both if these buttons down at the same time it will take you to the section of programming the lights. This may be a bit long, sorry... The options L1-L6 are for the mixed lighting while options L7-L8 are for the moon lighting. You can easily keep these or other options off by flipping the light intensity setting to 00. So, just as an example for settings (this is not my settings):

L1: 6:45
10
L2: 7:00
30
L3: 7:30
60
L4: 7:45
80
L5: 4:50
30
L6: 5:25
10
L7: 5:35
00
L8: 6:00
00

The reason why the two at the end are set at different times even when they are 00 anyways is because for some reason when set at the same time, the blue lighting still comes on.

Thanks for that, Boy what a PIA the learning curve is a bit steep. Think I'm getting it, Boy they don't give any time between settings to think about it!! This is what I came up with, we'll see how it goes. Thanks

You can do blue light BUT definitely not at 100%! Fish dont lile the blue as it is so keep it at 30% or below
