I never did an intro post but I figured I might as well before I am seasoned!

I currently reside in Austin, TX and have had a passion for aquariums ever since I can remember.  Now that I am older, and have a steady job, I can finally venture into the hobby and start making my own aquarium to watch at night (instead of TV :D).  As for work I am a Certified Cisco Network Professional with multiple certifications and a bachelors degree just for jokes.  The joke to see the value of the current degree in our market, being ex-military school was free.  I found that a $20k raise is given when receiving certification(s) and $0 when graduating with cumma sum laude.  Oh if I could go back in time and use those years to obtain more certifications I would have a larger tank!

My dream is to have a custom aquarium, at least 600 gallons, to include many unique salt water fish that I have always dreamed of keeping.  I run freshwater now to learn the basics and cut cost until I can afford the salt water setup.

Below is my tank stocking, hope you enjoy!  Pictures to follow...

2x south american puffers
2x german blue ram
5x platy
4x silver-tip tetra
3x cory
1x dwarf gourami
*
1x loach, golden dojo? Sits on top of gravel (5"?)
1x rosy tetra

Loach and tetra came with tank. The previous owner left them abandoned so I figured even if they didnt match or fit the scape so be it. Rather give them a good home the rest of their lives then take a chance at someone else leaving them in 1" of fish byproduct.

1x 12" pleco (good bye buddy!) - donated to pond due to size and future size reqs.

Future stock -

1x clown pleco

Pleco will max tank and be the final add. I am hovering around 95% stock per AqAdvisor but 128% filtration (580-600ish gph). My fear is hitting the 100% or 105% mark due to more constant WC and tank monitoring. Knowing plecos and their waste; but if i could with no risks i would.

What size is your tank?

Don't use aq, it isn't accurate. You can use it as a starting point but don't rely on it. I personally have never use it and don't plan to.

What sex are your Platies?

Your Silver-Tip Tetras need to be in a school of at least 6.

What type are your Corys? All Corys need to be in a school of at least 6.

The Rosy Tetra needs a school of at least 6.
