The bronze/peppered cories will get huge (in cory terms)- they're the ones that I have in my 16 litre- IMO too big for a 5 gallon. They'll make the tank filthy in a very short space of time and there wouldn't be enough room for them to move about once they grow up.

Are you worried that the black on the edges of his fins is finrot? or just part of his coloring? his red is beautiful! and I am glad that you know how to properly do a fish-in cycle, when I first started I had no idea what was needed for Betta's.
