Hello all!

Tropical fish have been my hobby for about 10 years now, but this is the first time I've looked for others with the same interest on the net.

I moved into my own place 3 years ago and due to the small size of my new apartment, I couldn't bring my tanks (63 l and 128 l) along. They're still with my parents in a different city, but I hope that once I find a larger place to live I'll be able to go back to my hobby.

During these 3 years, I lot of what I knew has been forgotten or perhaps even changed. I'm hoping that by visiting these forums I'll pick things up again. :)

One thing I do need to learn is the terminology in English, because I'm from Finland. It'll be a while before I feel comfortable with that, I think. I'll tell you more about my tanks and fish once I figure out their names in English. ;)

Well, that's about all I have to say for now. Thanks for your time. :)

Hi Morrgan!

Perhaps you could tell us your fish using their Latin names? That would probably speed up the translation process.

Okie, good suggestion. :)

128 l
1 Corydoras aeneus (only having one is bad, I know, and will do something about this in the near future)
2 Pterophyllum scalare

63 l
lots and lots of guppies (one name I do know)

I used to have a couple of Pelvicachromis pulcher and a beautiful blue Betta splendens, but they have now died of old age. These I mention specially, because they're ones I'd like to get again. The P. pulcher couple even had babies on several occasions. :)

I've also had a bunch of Corydoras paleatus, Paracheirodon innesi, Botia macracantha and 2 Trichogaster trichopterus.

You used to have a couple of kribs and a beautiful blue betta (aka "Siamese Fighting Fish")

"Bunch" of Peppered Corys
Neon Tetras
Clown Loaches
2 Three-spot Gouramis (aka "Blue" gouramis)

Thanks for the help. :) I've heard of Angelfish before, but the named escaped me for the moment. Seems I have lots to learn...

hello Morrgan

Good luck with learning the names English is my first language and still it is an up hill struggle, many different names for one type of fish even in the UK, not to mention adding the US names

A big thanks to Anna for translating, Im new to all this fish keeping :hyper: and it was all greek to me :p
