 Please can somebody help, my gibbiceps pleco is swimming to the top of the tank, swimming upside down and taking air in and expelling it through its gill. It has been in the tank a few years, I have two filters working well.
THanks kev.

Oh geez, doesn't sound good. :(

First, does he have any strange markings? How big is he, what size tank?

Second, check the water chemistry....immediately!

Check the temperature. Is it too hot?

Good luck, get back to us!!!

Our prayers to the Pleco. :/

:S he looks fine, no discolouration, no ulcers or rot, 30 gallon tank, he,s about 6 inches, the temp is 26 cent

how long has he been doing this? what else is in the tank? do you hav readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

i've got 3 silver sharks, 2 koi angels, 1 ruby shark and 2 black mollies, the mollies have only been in a week.
its a great forum and my first

CHeck out the tropical fish area and repost this. I have the same type pleco I think. It's not having problems but I know its stunted. How old is yours? Maybe the same happened... :(

My pleco is the same as the one in snowyangels picture, I think its about three years old because I only got the tank 2 months ago from my brother who had the tank for about six years but had to get rid. The pleco and ruby shark were the only two fish left from my bruv. How do I repost cuz i'm new.

Hi kevo :)

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

I'll move your thread to the Catfish Cradle section where you will be more likely to get good answers to your problem. :D
