Hi all

I am new to this forums and new to fish keeping.
Am hoping that I can learn a lot from you guys and that my fish live long and healthy lives.

I have one red tailed shark and two platys. They are all babies at the moment. The platys are incredibly inquisitive and always trying to see what I'm doing. The shark is a little more aloof but still very very cute.

I also have two cats, both whom like staring at the fish but dont worry, thats all they do :D

The lil fellas are always swimming fast so its hard to get a good photo of them but heres a very blurry one of my lil red tail shark...

See you around all

Hi there

My tank size is 70L :D

:hi: to the forum.

Unfortunately, as your red tailed shark grows, you will need to get a bigger tank or rehome him.

No problem. I'm prepared for that. Just wanted a smaller aquarium to start with. The bigger ones just look so overwhelming and as a beginner I wanted to make sure i was doing it right before investing in a bigger tank.

I wont let the lil fella live in that small tank for too long.. I will probably get a 210L one in about 6 months time. DO you think i could have him and an angelfish or two in that 210L one. I LOVE angelfish. But i heard they are a little bit more hard maintenance.

Welcome to the forum, I'm new to this too so hopefully we can learn lots from all the lovely members

Hello and welcome, am new here too. I have a red/orange tailed shark, and it's huge now...almost 6 inches in length from nose tip to tail tip - bigger tank is defo something to plan for. Mine is a 148ltr tank which seems fine, but anyway, good to meet you!!!!

Sorry, just re-read your post about an Angel...I have one angel now, and yes they are fantastic, seem more sensitive to water quality than others but until recently had never had a problem, and recently the problem was my own stupid fault, so I lost 2. (had 3 originally). My Angel is large and they seem fine together (shark and angel), but I'd suggest someone else might like to comment on their compatibility as this is only my experience of both being in the same tank.
