Hello everybody, new member here!

First of all what a great site we have here and I look forward to hearing from you all at some point.
I've just set up my first 64 litre tank. Brought from PetsAt Home the LoveFish Panaroma tank!
Have yet to add any fish, going through the tank cycling process at the moment.
No doubt I'll be pestering you all at some point for advice and questions!

Great to be here...

I was so happy when you said that you were cycling it! Welcome!

What do you plan on stocking it with?

Welcome!!

A piece of advice..... We love seeing pics!! Tons of it! :)

Welcome! I'd love to see a picture of your set up when it's finished. :D

Hi again! Thank you all for the warm welcome.

EllieJellyEllie, I was thinking of getting about six or seven Cardinal or Neon Tetras, two or three Guppies and two or three Gouramies (blue ones). Perhaps also an algae eater like a Loach and may be a couple of Shrimps too?

Do Loaches and Shrimps get on ok together?

I'll have to do some research first though on how big these will grow and if my pH, GH and KH is ok for them.
By the way using the API Master Test Kit I tried the pH low test and I had 7.6 and for the pH high test I had 7.4?
When I first set the tank up it was 6.8! Which one should I go by the pH low or high range test?

I've also just ordered the API GH & KH Test Kit as well.

Any advice or comments on my fish selection would be appreciated or any other fish suggestions would be great.

Hello mate. Welcome to the forum and it is indeed a great site

I am afraid I don't think your 64 litre tank will be suitable for loaches really.
I'd suggest getting some Pygmy cories or similar small cories as these get on well with shrimps. Do note cories do prefer to have sand substrate rather than gravel.

It's great that you're doing Fishless cycle and asking for advice, good for you. You'll have time to research about suitable stocking for your tank whilst the tank is being cycled :)

FYI - Here is a decent link for information on algae eaters.

Thanks FlyingFish78 and Ch4lie for the welcome.

Ch4lie thank you for the advice on Loaches and for the link.
I'll look into those Pygmy Cories too. Hopefully the local aquarium shops will have them.
