Hello fellow fish keepers. :D
My names Russ and my fish keeping expionce all started about 22 months ago…
When my boss gave me his JUWEL aquarium and stand complete with fish food!

Its approx 70 liters and more square in shape. After reading two books on fish keeping it all started. I made all the mistakes that you could think of. Over feeding, vacuuming the gravel too much and jenrely over cleaning every water change (that I was doing only once a month) using all those nasty chemicals that kill the good bacteria. Too name just a few so as you can imagine I had endless trouble with the water quality and lost fish left right and center.
I was getting so fed up with it and my wife didn’t like looking at the tank any more
“It’s so depressingâ€
I was down too 5 fish and thought I would’ent get any more until thing were right.
After being let down by friends of friends who are breades I was desperately searching the inter net for answers….and found this web site!

“THANKYOUâ€

After reading some of the beginner pages I started to understand things better. So I went out and purchased some ammonia and nitrite test kits and over the next week tested the water and “yey†the tank was cycling so I went out to a shop that is stocked by local breeders and bourt two angles. After two weeks of testing the water and watching out for any signs of disease’s things were ok and I went back and got two more things are going well at the mo.

Welcome,I started keeping fish a few months ago and pretty much made all the mistakes I could have done, your not on your own there !

Glad to hear things are now going ok.

Do you know when you wish you hadent tempted fate

(things are going well at the mo)

I lost one of the new angels this morning... he was at the top breathing fast?

sounds like there's not enough oxygen in the water. Either move your filter output so it's above the surface of the water and falls onto it, or add an air stone to the tank, either (or both) should fix the problem. :good:

The others seem ok,

Thanks for the advise Miss Wiggle
I do have an air stone that runs the same time as the lights...and I have the same pump attached too the power head :)

But I did a water change the other day and must of dissturbed the pipe that conects too the power head becouse there was no bubbles coming out when the power was switched off at night

but its ok now :good:
