Well i just stumbled onto your site, registered and thought i had better introduce myself.

My 100liter (26 us gal) tank has cycled and has had plants and a couple of fish in it for about a month.

By a couple i actually think i am bordeline overstocked.
4xSwordtails
1xPeppered Cory
1xCat Plecostomus
11xNeon Tetras
2xBala Sharks-Which i learnt will get quite large (will take them back later)

Now i have tested the water weekly and my Nitrite seems to be constant at 0.1mg/l
My ammonia for the last 2 weeks are at 0.4mg/l (Is this Normal).

My problem is that my ph looks like it is climbing 6.4, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3.
What could be causing this?

Nod, I'm afraid that whatever you were told, your tank is not cycled. Ammonia and nitrite are both produced in an un-cycled tank as a result of the beneficial bacteria now having built up.

Your pH is a lesser issue but ammonia and nitrite can kill fish. Please read my article "Avoiding and Treating New Tank Syndrome" - you can follow the link in my sig.

Good luck!

OK, point taken.

So i suppose the best step for me now is to leave everything as is, and do regular water changes. Until my tank has cycled fully.

Yup - keep an eye on those params.

Your lfs should keep you informed of what your purchases prefer and how big they will grow. Make sure you question them on your purchases. Unfortunately not all shops ask the right questions.
Cory's are also much happier in groups of 3 or more.

Enjoy the hobby and enjoy learning. :)

Yep, keep up the water changes and see how it goes, also if it shoots up too much you can always ask your local fish store if they can mind them for you!

My local fish store minded my marines during a move a couple of years ago so I gave them a bottle of Whiskey for their trouble and now I get a 20% discount on everything!

Not a bad deal if you can get it!
