my filtration in my thousand gallon recently blew, thing is, its my predator tank, with many messy eaters, the tank can get pretty nasty just after feeding. What is the strongest filter system that would work with this? price is not an issue.

What did you have running before it went out?

Tmc 5000 commercial filter ( it will set you back 4k tho)

But I'd go sump on this one

Think you should be using a dump :) and I think you should show pics of your tank

i don't know what you had before.. but i know what i'm going to do when i set up my 800 gallon tank and the 300 gallon sump. i'm going to use the first section of the 300 gallon as a trickle filter with a drip tray on top and bio balls under the drip tray. in the second section there will be another drip tray and there will be scrubbies for additional bio-filtration under that. the 3rd section is probably going to be planted to help with the nitrates, and the the pond pump will be connected to the 4th and final section for return to the main tank. the pond pump is going to be a reeflo hammerhead.

i'm also working on an idea for hydroponics to grow vegetables as part of the filtration system for the 800 gallon. but that may just be an idea.. i still have LOTS of research to do.
