Hello All,
Its me the Novice annoyance :D
I have just gone out and bought a 10 litre tank to keep my first betta in. I have read that generaal Bettas dont need heat so long as the room is warm enough. But heres the thing, i dont think mine is -_- . I have looked in the shops for small heaters and they are all oversized for the tank capacity :/ . I have heard people mention Heat pads, are those the ones that Lizards have in the vivariums? :dunno: Let me know. Thank you very much.

P.S: Still a bit unsure of where to get my betta from..... not sure if its good to get one from thailand (with the travel) or should i look here in Europe?

As always Thanks to all

Thanks for the Response Bettaman :) But i dont speak too much German :( Would you ship to Germany?

For a 10gallon, you should have no problem using a 25w heater. You can find one online if you can't find one locally. Good luck!

Appreciated all. i will hunt for a small heater in some more shops ( wish i was in England!) if not online. :)

Just finding out about that at the moment, for another reason, cant say too much TOP SECRET so will keep in touch, and as soon as i have some answers i will pm you, speaking to defra today but they were having problems so its all emails and they don't respond very quick or they are finding things out for me....... :p
EDIT
the link i posted he gets on bettas 4 all netherland site look up posts from joep for link and its all in english ;)

Nice One Bettaman. I think i have heard of Joep. I belive he is the moderator of another Betta Forum. Thanks for the advice and let me know about the hush, hush! :hey:

http://www.aquaristikshop.com/ has reasonable prices and cheap shipping prices. I don't remember the size (in centimetres) of the smallest heaters, but you can ask them, they speak good english. http://www.aquarisc.net/ is another good place.

Easiest is to buy bigger tank for the next betta, 40 liters is a good size, imho. You can decorate it and it has space for filter and heater :)

And from here you can find different breeders around the world: http://www.startkabel.nl/k/bettasplendens/

I live in Finland and I have ordered bettas from Thailand with no problems. Might not be a good idea at the winter though, they would propably freeze on their trip now. I am waiting till spring to order more. But let's hope you will find nice bettas from somewhere close :)
