Heating a betta bowl

I bought one of those heating pads for sore neck muscles (available at most department stores for around $20). It works really well, and keeps the bowls/tanks at a temperature of around 80 degrees when it is on the lowest setting. I keep it on in winter 24 hours a day, and turn it off completely in summer.

I think some people just keep the entire room heated. One site I went to put the betta containers inside a larger, heated tank.

Ill look into the heating pads thanks, I think my betta is happy in his bowl compared the the petstore. Although he was in a 5g and i DID have to move him to this :/ He killed my male guppy :-( Anyways thanks for the info
PS keeping the room heated would be way more expensive :kana:
