Do you need a heater in with your betta?

I currently have my betta in a 10 g tank with a filter and 25w heater. The temp is set to 26 degrees celcius.

I had him in my 10 g community tank with 3 platies which he started to attack.
What (if any) samll fish could i put in his new tank with him?

I was going to try 6 neons (if they got nippy i could put them in with the platies)
failing that i was thinking about a few white mountain minnows.

I have some endler females in with my male betta (but he is easy going) and also some corys, the girls tank has endlers and frogs.

Where did you put the platys? You could put 4 to 5 corys and thats it or maybe 1 or 2 african dwarf frogs.

I bought another 10 g tank for the platies lol

so now i have the platies in there (with 3 m guppies)

The betta is on his own in a 10 g but was thinking of adding some neons and maybe an otto

to be honest, i wouldn't add anything with him
if he's been attacking one type of fish he could easily attack others, that just may be his temperament!

i have one like that that was trying to attack my corys, he's since been moved to his own 4 gallon tank and my other more peaceful betta lives with the corys.

Yeah. It all depends on how warm your house is. For example if the thermostat at your house is set at 65 or 70 you would need a heater but if it was set at 76 or higher you wouldn't need a heater.
