Heater Sparked Up And Broke!

I was still awake at night time and saw the flash of the heater and immediately ran and take it off and check all my lovely fish, why has the heater
gone up in spark, i took a good look of it and it seems like its cracked, and it pisses me off, cause this is my second heater that broke
can someone help me out with keep the heater good year round?

where are you based? UK USA etc.. as brands will obviously differ place to place

If your in the UK get yourself a Vistitherm or a Fluval Tronic

i live in the US, US got horrible products from time to time, i thought the mariner heater would last a life timee

What brand was it that broke?

Eheim Jagers are good and should be available in the US, I think Visitherms are too.

I like the Jagers and Visitherm Stealths as they are very durable and wont shatter if you forget to turn them off when doing a water change.
Rena smartheaters are supposed to be good for this too.

i didnt do no water change, it just sparked up in the middle of the night and i heard a BOOM and i quick ran and disconnect it

all i can say is...external stat or a digital heater such as the fluval E series

Only heaters I've ever seen do that were very cheap ones made by Resun.

my LFS charged me like 40bucks for that heater, buncha cheap ####s

How old was it? Should be guaranteed a year. Ours are here in the UK, some 2 or 3 years. Best ones here are Visitherm. I wouldn't buy any other make.

Was your water level below the mark on the heater? That's the only thing I know of that would cause your heater to crack...

it wasnt even near a half a year old, grrr, soo heated
and no it wasnt below the water level, if it is, it woulda been cracking and breakin since day1
