is a 50watt heater to low rating for a 15galon tank

its usually fine but ive turned the temp up a few degrees and the lights been on ever since also as winters aproaching room temperature will drop a tad

would it be advisable to upgrade to a 100watt heater?

I used to run a 50watt in a 10gallon and it blew. It was a Jager heater too, very good heaters. Tank was in my basement where the temp can fluctuate during the winter. It doesn't get real real cold down there but the heater really needs to do it's job in the dead of winter.

I'd definitely step up to a 100. I recently reset my 10gallon in the basement again, but i have a 125watt Jager heater in there now.
