Ok so its summer here in the Philippines and that means real hot weather. My tanks are now at 30C and sometimes higher. This heat will last at least another month or two.

I keep:
Geophagus Surinamensis
Red SeveRUM
ELECtRIc BLUE JACK DEMPSEY
RAmS, tEtRAS, Raphael catfish, guppies, betas, cores

Will they survive the summer? And this will happen every year how will that affect them. The rest of the year the temps are around 25-28

Do your tanks have lids? My tanks often get well over 30+ degrees cel in summer and I don't have lids on my tanks, I also have lights that don't extend to full length of the tank. I  have the filters (HOBs) set up to cause ripples and surface agitation which helps in oxygen transfer and tank cooling. I also have extra airstones running in my tanks for the same reason.

You could also try having a fan blowing across the surface of your tanks water to help with evaporation and cooling.

If your fish where locally bred then there is a very good chance they are already used to the weather extremes.

you can put a couple ice packs in the tank which will cool the tank down for you :)

My tanks regularly hit 35C+ in summer, i just take lids off and ripple surface. Havent lost anything yet

With the ice thing just be careful of doing that (especially in smaller tanks). If you miss putting a new ice block in or put in too many, the tank will heat back up or cool too quickly, fluctuations in heat can do more damage than just leaving the tank warmer than normal

Alright thanks! Will just let them be, they aren't showing any signs of stress so I'm sure it will be fine, was just being careful :)
