he still won't eat...

I've had Max for like 2 weeks now, and he still hasn't eaten a single betta bite (that I can see)! Instead he's still eating leftovers from aglae wafers. What should I do?

When you buy a fish sometimes they don't like the flakes or pellets you give them as they get used to a certain one, try him on some bloodworms, give him a varied diet.

-He's in a 10 gallon with 2 otos, I worry the otos will starve if I don't leave out something- they're hikari wafers
-hikari betta bio-gold baby pellets that he won't eat


I want to go get some frozen bloodworms, but I have to take public transit for about an hour - it'll all defrost in this warm weather. What else can I get that will survive the commute?

You can buy freeze dried blood worms which my bettas love that are commonly available in most stores.

Try buying live food, it last longer and you can freeze it at home. Or encourage mozzie larvae in a barrel of water in your gerden, then freeze them and feed them (deforsted of course).

If he likes algae wafers is there any reason not to let him eat them? Maybe he's a pacifist vegetarian betta

Ok so he didn't seem too happy about the current in the 10 gallon, so I got him a new two gallon home with a couple silk plants and a hidey pot. He ate a few dethawed bloodworms yesterday, but today he's ignoring them... nooo why? Should i just plop a few on the gravel for him?? The betta bites are still a no-go
