I still have two of my original White Cloud Mountain Minnows. Through this time, they've seen four of their friends 'disappear' from their tank. Hopefully, I'll have them for a long time to come.

I have 3 of my original 6 platies and 4 of the original 6 neons....then again though, I have only had the tanks since just before Christmas....

That said...all the surviving fish lived through ammonia of 10ppm and nitrite of 15ppm (during cycling)...a bad bout of ich, finrot and dropsy (which killed 5 fish in total)...not to mention the amounts of times the females have given birth!!

But my favourite "survivor" fish is one of my baby platies who was out of water for 20minutes during a transfer (my fault) and is still fighting fit!!!!

Not to mention my male bnose plec, Dyson, who has raised 3 batches of children all on his own (his 'partner' electra, only laid the eggs!!!)

My three Golden Barbs cannot and will not die they never even look ill. they are indestructable!! :D

My bigger weatherloach, Kentaro. I've had him 2 years.

First he was in a 40l with 8 goldfish  and I knew nothing about cycling or water changes. He then went into a 160l but I still didn't know about cycling or water changes. Then he went into a 68l and I still didn't know about cycling or water changes and he is now in the 160l again as a tropical dude and I finally know about cycling and water changes.

Incidently all but one of the original goldfish are alive and have gone to live in a pond.

:)

A tetra that somehow has survived a heater failure, living without a shoal and about a year with only one water change :X I didn't intentionally torture him, I jsut didn't know any better :( he had a hardcore surviving freind but she died mysteriously the other day.

The heartiest fish I've got (and have ever had) is a rainbow shark. It got it when it was about and inch and 1/2, when I first got a 5 gal aquarium and knew next to nothing about keeping fish. He's survived several tank swappings, countless water conditions, random stupid mistakes, overcrowding, lack of food, a bout of ich (and two treatment cycles), he even jumped out of a temporary (during tank upgrade) tank twice and flopped around on the ground for up to a minute each time. (none of this intentionally, just as my knowledge progressed)

Now he's in his own (large pot) cave, eating spinach, and his colors are more vibrant than ever. Truly a hearty fish.

ok ive had my oscar for about 4 years and has had my tank running for 6 years.

:) I've had my 4 Pristella tetras for the longest. They are survivors . . . even though I only had them since last summer. They moved (when I had to move into a new house), survived through the mysterious crisis (I lost half of my fish in two weeks) and they even breed once! :hyper:

I've had my red eye tetra since the day i set up my 30 gallon two years ago. He's had many different tank mates and now is living in my 55 gallon tank.

I've had my guppy, Ferris, since I first started this hobby back in November! He's been through and outlived: a broken leaking heater, a molly giving birth, all the molly babies, 2 platies, one molly and new tank sydnrome since I didnt know about cycling!

And to top it off...

I BOUGHT HIM AT WAL MART! :D

Our longest surviving fish was one of our pengasias cats. He/she lived for about 5 years but sadly died last week :byebye: The other one we have had for about 18months and I am still debating whether to get another companion for it or not.

The pengasias survived 4 tank moves (3 of them from different parts of the country to new houses and one within our current house to a new location), one broken tank (found the tank one morning with about 3 inches of water in it and heater broken and electrocuting the water!) and a massive ammonia spike when we moved the tank last time, which actually killed most of the rest of our fish :( Not to mention all the crappy beginners mistakes and so on.
