Hi,

First off if this is illegal would a mod please delete it, but....

I'm no reef keeper, perhaps one days, but found this site whilst bored at work, thought I would share. I think you'll agree he's dedicated! Why would you need to control the tank equipment remotely via a computer!!!!

Gorgeous tank though I hope you'll agree :)

There's a guy in the North East that runs Cyber Aquatics marine shop on the Team Valley in gateshead. He always has some of the healthiest and most interesting marine fish, inverts, and corals in stock. He's the director of the pitbull syndicate who write computer games. He has developed a computerised system that runs the tank, probably similar to what is in the post above. He can go on holiday and check the status of the tank from his laptop, recieve emails from the system if there is a problem.

In reality it would be possible to do the same with any proprietory control system such as AMX or Crestron, as well as PC based systems. You just need to be able to read the output from the sensors into the controller, and control the servo's, pumps, lights etc. It's not that hard to impliment if you think about it. Just very expensive!

These systems have been around for a while, I think they are great. You can get txts now with warnings, or like you said, remotely monitor your water stats from a computer. Awsome if you have the mulah! :D
