...as far as i can tell its always been fine, but then today, i noticed its "head" drifting on the sand bed (and when i say its head, i don't mean the crown, i mean the upper half of the worm). Realising that this wasn't good, i scooped out the empty tube and found the rest of the worm decomposing in it (the smell was awful).
After cleaning out the tube, i was able to put the "head" of the worm back in it, and im pritty sure its still alive (its moving anyway)...whats the verdict on this ?

I don't know what caused it, maybe changing the food about a month ago ?

Cheers.

"Breeding: Little is known but apparently the worms have been seen to break in half and the 'tail' end can develop a head."

Is this the bit you were referring me to ? The tail end was well and truly rotten...The upper half doesn't seem to be doing too well either, it reacts slowly to any "intrusion" of its space and also keeps pushing itself out of the tube. I'm pretty sure its a lost cause :(
