I'm planning on getting another Aqueon Quietflow 30 power filter for my 29 gallon tank since one filter doesn't seem to be doing the work. I was wondering if it would be ok to have 2 filters in a 29 gallon tank? Also I have another question, how long(days)does it take for a filter to actually clean all the water and make it crystal clear?

Although i am not entirely sure the output/s of the filter you mentioned, having another filter can never be a problem. I run a Fluval 205 on my 30 Gallon for main filtration, plus i run a small, Aquaone internal filter full of floss.. this helps with my bogwood tannis issue (which has all but gone now).

A filter should, on average, fully cycle the volume of the tank it is in 3 or 4 times an hour. A good way to calculate this is on initial set-up, IE; your filter can fill your tank in about 15-20 minutes.

Are you running an external filter as well? If not, maybe you could look into getting one... a tank your size really would benefit from one.
:good:

Terry.

-EDIT- A quick Google finds this --> http://www.aqueonproducts.com/education/videos/index.php?v=qdIlAvErVuE

Seems you are contemplating buying a 'hang-on back- filter, so depending what your current filter is would help you decide better :good:

An additional filter CAN be a problem if the fish you keep actually prefer calmer waters, else you end up stressing them to death. Just keep that in mind.
