My cats just refuse to submit to any "commands"... they will not sit, rollover & play dead, or do any of the degrading stuff that dogs are succumbed to do (for a mediocre buiscuit treat or two)...Does this mean that a cat is then in fact more stupid than a dog... On the contrary...

My cat Snolla... who was dumped at my daughters door (at about 3 weeks old) when she was still studying to be a vet....

The Ginger one is called Ouboeta, & also just pitched up as a ferral when he was about 8weeks old....

He is not social at all... he tollerates me and will communicate with my wife (when he feels like it)... This is a cat with an attitude.

Cats own YOU, not the other way around. They sometimes listen but generally only when it suits them, not to please you. They are amazing, proud animals. Life wouldn't be the same without one.

Here is my 'owner'

Rescued from the pound with his sis when they were just babies.

Edit: And I believe they are smarter then dogs. I mean, dogs have jobs they do in order to earn their keep, even if it's just letting us dress 'em up. Cats just get the easy life, lounging around and doing whatever they want. Sure, there are some barn cats but I consider them the odd ones out :D They also know how to push us just right to get the extra bit of food or whatever and when to purr and snuggle up to us to get what they want and when it won't work. Boo does it all the time.

I have three bengals, all of them different in temp. but they are certainly the boss - why else would I be the one ending up not daring to move in the middle of the night in case I wake them up!

I think the only reason they won't roll over is because they're arrogant, well mine is anyway! I have a rescued cat, which we got from the cats protection league, when we got him he was twice the weight of an average cat because the owner fed him nothing but crap.

We have an adult rescue. Apparently she 'wouldn't stay in the house or come home' when they moved house. We found her wandering the streets, left her for a couple of weeks before eventually taking her in and sticking up posters in the area for her owners to come forward.

After weeks more of asking around in the area we finally tracked down the owners (not them that came to us). Knocked on their door... 'We have your cat', 'Oh you may aswell keep her cause she wouldn't stay blah..blah'. (Funny how she's never strayed more than a few metres from our house ever since she's lived here)

She seems genuinely happy to live in a nice warm loving home. But after owning 11 cats she's certainly the exception to the rule. The rest didn't care at all, so long as they got a cuddle when they wanted and got fed every day that suited them fine. The rescue (named Freddy), even walks with my younger sister up to the top of the gennal(not sure how you spell it, a walkthrough between two houses). She did this most mornings while my sister was at primary school.

I also know a man in the area who's cat goes with him when he takes the dog for a walk... Weird.

Ahh bless.

Ludwig, i nominate the first piccy of Snolla for POTM =]

Brings back memories, oh those 3 and abit years ago, when we went to CP (cats protection) and got Milo. :)

He was from someone who had un-neutered cats, lots of litters etc...! -_-

Hes a lovely cat, he came when called but was rather stubborn at feeding times.
Nothing but the best!

After weeks of slowly introducing him to Alfie the rabbit, they got along fine for 2 years. They were the best of friends  . Then Milo snapped and attacked Alfie. They were not hurt badly or anything but it made me feel abit nervous about keeping them together without supervision.
So he now resides at a relatives house, so i still get to see him...! :)

my cat pixie(soz don't have a pic but she is a tortise shell longhaired cat) comes when I whistle and hold out my hand :good:

2nd that nomination.

i have maine coons and they are more like dogs than cats... they sit, lay down and out of the room on command also they even fetch :fun: .

I have both extremes.

This is Dinah, he's 9 and I rescued him from an abusive neighbor when he was only 4 weeks. He thinks he's a dog, comes when you call his name, will walk on a harness and leash, follows me all over the house always wanting to be involved in whatever I'm doing.

This is Bailey, he's 6 and I got him from a friend of my mom's. He'll sometimes come when you call him, but prefers attention on his own terms. He is extremely food oriented though, so if anyone walks in or near the kitchen he'll ususally come out to see if you'll add something to his dish.

That said they both completely own me, everytime I go to the store I look for something they may like. They're like perpetual 2 year olds.
