Ive got a 48 uk gal tank with

3 angel fish (medium)
2 butterfly fish (full size)
4 mollies (small)
4 serpae tetra (small)
2 black widow (medium)
6 tiger barb (small)
1 clown loach (small)
1 shark (medium)
2 pearl gouarmie ( full size)

do I have too many fish?

what kind of shark?

i think you're pushing your stocking there, taking the inch per gallon rule,
Angels - adult size around 8" each
Butterfly Fish - adult size 4" each
Mollys - adult size 4" each

that's 48 inches of fish on their own.
not taking into account each fishes living requirements.

not including the shark, not knowing what type it is. you have a potential 96 inches of fish your tank.

i suggest cutting down a little, or investing on another tank!

Thanks, I do have another tank already but i wanted to get a fighter fish, what do you think would be ok with the fighter? Im not sure what kind of shark it is, its silver with black lining at the end of the tail and fins.

thats a bala shark, they get very big and should be kept in shoals

Not only are the balas shoaling fish but the clown loaches are also - both types need more of their own sort to keep them happy and both sorts need a much larger tank that they have right now.

Either you cut down on the fish ... the bigger ones
or
get a 125 gallon tank and put your clown loaches and bala sharks in there.
Clown Loaches get 12" and Bala Sharks get 12-14"
Currently you are overstocked and should think of a way to remove some of the fish from there, or your fish will eventually die from stress.
