I've seen my two boys fight, one got into the other side of a divided tank, it was a good job I looked up within five mins of last checking. Needless to say I will never create my own divided tank again. Although the way they were fighting was graceful, I would NEVER EVER let it happen again with my fish but I dont have a problem with those who fight their fish professionally and care for them.
