As the title really, i have 13 Cory soldalis in a tank and from what i have read they dont breed in captivity

does anyone know any different????

I bred this species back in 1986. There is a copy of the spawning log on my web site Corydoras world and in my original book "Breeding Corydoradinae Catfish".

earlier today i did a large water change on my 100L cory tank, probably about a 40% change using cooler water. for about an hour after the change the corys were sat on the sand not really doing a lot then over a short period they all became very active chaseing each other and constantly on the move

anyway i sat there watching them for a while and noticed that one of the larger corys, actually the biggest one in the group kept on going to the same leaf on one of the amazon swords, it would rest on the top of the leaf and swim along it at an angle flicking its body and tail untill it got to the end of the leaf, it would then turn around and do the same in the opposite direction. it has now done this several times tonight always the same fish and always the same leaf on the plant

anyone got any ideas ????

My advice... look for eggs on that leaf. That is what mine do when placing eggs. :good:
The others may be eating them though. (mine eat them if I don't get them out quick)
