if you have bought bettabarracks for your community tank plz post me back saying how good they are and what size your community tank is and how much the barracks were.

thnx alot, guppy_man

i thought you can get barracks than can stick to the inside of your community tank especially for bettas.

what am i talking about then, i know that they are for bettas and they go inside your community tank.

I started searching online for the betta barracks... and found something that said that they were discontinued by the manufacturer.

Looks like there's a comparable product from Penn Plex called the Betta Condo that will hold up to 4 bettas. You can check it out at this link:

Also here's some other info that I found that might make you decide not to get one:wizard:

Q. How many Bettas can be kept together?

A.
That answer depends on the sex of the Betta. Only one male can be kept in an aquarium, as males will fight with one another (hence their common name, Siamese Fighting Fish). Females are a bit more tolerant of each other. As many can be kept together as there is adequate room for in the aquarium.

Betta lovers will often use a 'Betta condo' to allow them to keep multiple males in a single aquarium. The condo is simply a small container that is vented to allow water circulation through it. It hangs inside the aquarium, effectively keeping any fish inside it separated from the rest of the tank.

A certain degree of controversy surrounds the use of Betta condos. Single condos kept in seperate locations within the tank are acceptable. However, when several are kept side by side it can induce males to flare at one another. Some owners, including myself, feel that the stress caused by this practice can negatively affect the health of the fish. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

ohhh them
no they are totally unsutiable for a betta
just another thing for pet shops to make money with

do y'all think the betta condo is big enough for 1 betta if you take all of the dividers out? I couldn't find any information on the total volume of the unit.

Well I was bored and did a few calculations. I was curious to see if the betta condo with all of the dividers removed was big enough for 1 betta. Without any dividers the volume is .411 gallons which is pretty small. Although I wonder if it makes any difference that the water from the entire tank flows through the condo. For instance if the betta condo is inside of a 25 gallon tank... the water quality will be much better than if a fish were in a closed .411 gallon container.

any thoughts?
