Hey Harry!

have you fitted your new lights to the tank yet? How are you fitting them on to the hood?

Luke

yep they are all fitted..... not very well  but still good. the unit is got came with clips that you screw onto the lid or whatever. and i just screwed them into the lid. the tank gets hot so i have a fan on from 10 to 5 (on hot days but tbh its goes up by 1.2 degrees with fan on but not that much more with it off. im going to re make a lid and have pc fans in it with a heater/fan controller.

heres my pictures of my new stock
the sps plate is nice and green a bit brown in the photo though.

what do you guys think? i will take more photos when the corals have settle in a bit.

forgot to take a pic of my urchin i willpost one up later

Any chance you could throw a couple of pics up showing how uve fitted the lights? and how they look on the tank?

Im thinking of getting a starter pack to add some new bulbs but if its a bit of a pain for the juwel i may wait and invest in a new lighting system altoghether.

Thanks

Luke

if you want more light and you have the money then buy a ati unit.
the smallest amount of t5s are 4 and i think the highest is 10!! bulb units
so a 4 times 24W t5 unit without lights will be £275 http://coventryaquatics.com/marine-lighting-ati-lighting-units-sunpower-pendant-4x24w-p-574.html?osCsid=fc88fc113a5c18bc6817f1c6447e813d

ok i will be posting some pics up soon.

ok as requested by lucasfoster here are my extra t5s

DSCF2834.jpg

we couldnt find screws small enough for them not to go through the lid so we used corks.

as you can see thats how the clip on.

DSCF2837.jpg

the wire wasnt long enough to go round so i cut the automatic feed flap.

DSCF2838.jpg

better picture of how its fitted.

and thats the best i could do in a short space of time, but if you want me to redo this and maybe make vid then please post a comment.

Thats fantastic Harry! Thank you very much for that!
got a better picture now of what needs to be done :D

If you have a chance a video would be great!! but I dont want you taking up your time to do it! so dont worry!

Thanks Again

Luke

ok thanks :good: i may get i vid but it may be a few days because im now in year 10 so i have a bit of work to do but i will try.

update: tank going down hill atm. lost my xenia (i think) it kept falling over on top of it self and other corals. then when i stuck it down it didnt like its new place. and then i moved to were it was and it didnt stick down properly so when a came back from london it had fallen down :shout: so i think it got eaten after that because it was just a load of slime. it was a nice coral as well  algae issue atm i have just cleaned the glass so it looks better. lps and sps dont look good.

pictures dont show the algae problem

it'll pull round mate, they take a while to settle although your xenia doesn;t sound too clever> I had a tiny frag of that that did the same but when I bought a bigger one its been fine and grown over last 5 months. Pity you ain;t closer I;d give you a big frag of it. Although its classec weed its one of the best looking in a reef in my opinion always swaying and pulsing

I got a monti plate frag and its only just starting to grow. I saw a reefer last night who got one the same size as ours and after initial slow growth his is now about the size of a side plate looking great. can;t wait for mine to be like that
