Harlequin Tetras Dropping Like Flies

No hospital / nursery tank - I usually get a good group of survivors for sending on later. Have struggled in the past to get them posted safely. MTS are easy - they're made of steel. However, apples are a bit more delicate!

I used to get small Tupperware tubs at the local pound shop, about 2-3 cm tall and 5 in diameter. I'd pack the bottom with a layer of moist filter wool (the really fluffy stuff, not the sheet stuff), pop the snails on top, another layer of moist wool over that, closed it, newspaper or paper around that and address on the top. The RM postage was cheaper back then, but even now that should still be under 2.50 for the p&p, which most people were happy to pay. I've sent everything from newly hatched snails to the eggs themselves like that and I don't think I'd ever had a DOA that way. I once received about 150 adult snails packed like that from a mate (in a huge Tupperware box, of course), all of them made it alive.

As for MTS, they really can survive almost anything!
