Well after i realised i couldnt get a pearl gourami in my tank yestarday, i went for the more sensible stocking option and bought 6 harlequin rasboras.

I introduced them to my tank very slowly over 2 hours, so they could adjust to the water nicely, But ever since i have put them in they have been absolutly frantic, swimming up and down the back of the tank VERY quickly all day. I have had the lights off in my tank since i put them in yestarday morning. Are they having problems or is this just how they settle in? Will they calm down?

Not sure my 5 guppies like all this movement either

 they are nuts - mine are non stop, although they occupy most of the tank, not just the back. Give them time to settle Im sure they will be fine :)

i might take them back if they dont settle down at bit, they are really spooking my guppies :(

Not sure if this is any use, but originally i didnt have a background on my tank, i tried putting a black background and then a blue background on to see if it would calm them down, apprently neither of them are calming colours, lol.

Also they seem to be obsessed with my spray bar which is just submerged at the back with the flow pointing towards the back of the tank, so not to disturb the water too much

Yep mine love the flow of the filter outlet. Im not sure why they are bothering the guppies though?

think lowering the temprature may help?

currently have it at 77/78 degrees

You could try, mine sits at 77 though.

Not sure what to suggest, maybe putting some extra cover in, plants maybe?

Lots of plants already, hmmm, guess i'll just give them a few days and see what happens

It might be worth turning the spray bar round. When I kept Harlequins, they used to love swimming in the flow from the filter.

hmm good idea, i might try having half the spray bar facing forward and the other half facing at the glass, see how that goes

Mine are pretty energetic as well, they complement the flame tetra which seem to be just as spunky, very nicely. They school together most of the time.

Mine seem to love the flow of water out of the power filter. Like you say, they dart along the back of the tank non stop but they seem quite happy and my other fish don't seem bothered by it at all.
