wat is the most hardiest freshwater fish??
Actually, lyretails are the least hardy mollies. But why would you be recommending someone cycle with mollies anyway? There is no need to cycle with fish at all.SneakBetta said:I'm not sure if they are the hariest, but I know black mollies are really hardy. They are actually brackish fish so they can live in fresh and salt water. They are hardy enough to be used for cycling!
Mollies are not really hardy at all. If you have to cycle with fish (which I wouldn't have if I had known) than something like a platy or swordtail would be good, they are cheap. And I don't know why cycling with fish or without would make a difference. The bacteria needed for the cycle only need the ammonia from food breaking down or from the fish wastes. Having fish in during the cycle only makes it more likely that those fish will die from the added stress. It might take a little longer to cycle without fish in the tank but its much more humane.SneakBetta said:Actually I was saying regular black mollies. Not the lyertail. My dad tried those mollies and they sucked. We have asked thousands of people (even this breeder guy that has been doing it for 16 years) and he said it's more successful when you cycle with fish. Another thing..........I wasn't saying that he should cycle with mollies. I was saying that they can live through it successfully. This is the last time I'll be on this site, thanks Alien Anna
