I was thinking of getting some Corydoras trilineatus, would a group of 3 be too small?

Of all the other corydora species, which one is most similar to the Corydoras trilineatus, in terms of their behaviour and traits?

I purchased 3 Corydoras trilineatus, that were only 2cm. Put them in an established tank with 0 Nitrites/Ammonia and NitrAtes of 10ppm, but for some reason they died in the space of a few days. It could just have been because they came from a bad batch. These were the first every cories I lost, and I haven't lost any since.

Am thinking of getting them again, but not sure if the Corydoras trilineatus are hardy as other cories?

I have had mine for about 8 months now and i lost one in that span. I originally had 6, but now I have 5. The one that died didnt look good from the minute it went into the tank. They are a great cory and seem hardy to me. I also partial water changes and keep the sand substrate clean for them. As for other cories have the same behavior, I think all cories act the same and go well together. What kind of substrate do you have?

Thanks for the reply Barracuda518. Have they grown a lot since you got them? I think I'll get 3 and see how they go before adding anymore.

For substrate, I have fine pebbles (gravel) which I gravel vac twice a week. I have yoyo and clown loaches like you, so its the highest priority to keep the substrate clean.

Sounds good. They are in a 30 US gallon with my Botia Striata and they have grown some, but not a whole lot. They really dont get that big, about 2.5" at full grown.
